We are a growth-stage start-up looking to expand with the addition of a new  Backend Developer. We are looking for candidates who have a decent experience and a proven track record in development and maintaining production-level projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a rapidly growing company, Pivony is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer.

Here’s what you will be doing

• Develop new api services, write tests, and enable integrations with 3rd party systems by writing Python codes
• Help us identify and develop solutions to improve automation, build harnesses, and simplify our platform and processes
• Define the high-level architecture of the cloud-based platform, and create execution plans to implement and deliver the platform
• Develop, deploy, and provide continuous improvements for Microservices, containers and container orchestration systems.

Professional Requirements

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field and 2+ years of experience; or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in Python Frameworks (Flask or Django)
• 2+ years of work-experience using AWS cloud and its resources/services.
• Strong coding skills with strong competencies in data structures and algorithms.
• Strong work-experience in Relational Databases including PostgreSQL.
• Experience in non-relational databases (Mongo DB, Cassandra, Dynamo DB) is a big plus.
• Solid understanding of REST API Services and JSON structures.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies with the ability to break up requirements into more manageable tasks
• Experience with data systems that support machine learning workflows and data lifecycle is a plus.
• Commitment to quality, accuracy, and reliability of services provided.

OUR PROCESS

If you have been selected as a short-listed candidate, we will contact you for a short interview to get to know you better. If you don’t get a call, please don’t be disappointed! The process will be finalized with a final interview. This usually takes 2 weeks in average.
